Flower power – Handmade Necklace with Swarovski crystals
by Maura Nicholson on Sep.21, 2009, under Handmade Jewelry
When I was 12 years old I would spend hours drying melon seeds, painting them bright colours and then varnishing them, I would then make them into necklaces and bracelets for myself and my friends. Now I buy brightly coloured Swarovski crystals, add a rather large hand-cut brass flower and lots of smaller flowers, my grown up version of a melon seed necklace. I now by the way eat melons for pleasure and throw the seeds away!

Winter Jewellery – Large moonstone necklace
by Maura Nicholson on Sep.20, 2009, under Handmade Jewelry
Winter is on its way – jumpers, coats, boots and of course Winter Jewels will be needed. I’m busy making pieces from black labradorite beads, amethyst, garnet, iolite and hematite beads, there will be my favorite moonstones and some lovely back opals, emeralds, rubies and flashes of blue included. This necklace with a large moonstone and handcut silver pieces will help take the winter blues away!

Jewels Of Saraswati
by Jewels of Saraswati on Sep.19, 2009, under Handmade Jewelry
Greetings! As this is my first post on the JewelStruck blog I would like to introduce myself and my Etsy shop! I create jewelry and meditation malas from semi-precious stones, sterling silver, gold, wood, pewter and crystal. My work is earth, yoga, dream inspired….
My creations can be described as bohemian, ethnic, trendy, chic and more. I generally make pieces that I would wear myself and, like me, my craft is constantly evolving.
Here are just a few of the items that have been inspired by the elements. Many use earthy, natural colors such as beige, rich browns, fiery reds, dark greens and use materials such as wood and semi-precious stones.
I am honored to be a part of this wonderful community on JewelStruck and look forward to sharing my creations and ideas with you!
Peace,
Lauren/Saraswati
Pendants to Celebrate Fall
by Laura Rockefeller on Sep.19, 2009, under Handmade Jewelry
I never want summer to end, but as a color enthusiast, fall foliage helps ease the transition to colder weather. I created my new line of fall pendants as an homage to the spectacular palette that mother nature annually presents those us in temperate climates. I made these out polymer clay using assorted leaf and pumpkin cookie cutters. And best of all with these leaf shaped pendants…no raking!
