Tish McDermott comes from a family heritage of people whose lives were rich in art, design, music, and crafting. Creativity was essential to life and unconventional ideas were the norm. Fashion was individualistic and non-conformist. Early on she became aware that commercial jewelry was not readily available to accessorize the fashion sense of a non-traditional woman and Just A Tish Designs were born. Tish's designs have been found in Bead Trends Magazine, show cased in the Farmville and Holly Springs, NC Arts Councils, and are available in stores across the country.

Karla Wheeler was born and raised in San Diego, had a layover in Wisconsin, and now lives and works in Chicago. She grew up with two artistic parents, thinking that it must have skipped a generation, until her mother convinced her to take a class at Chicago’s Lillstreet Art Center. As she found clay to be too messy and her drawing abilities limited to stick figures, Karla decided to see what the Metals Department had to offer. Since then, in addition to her workaholic tendencies at her day job and taking care of her Daschund-Chihuahua puppy at home, she has been making and selling jewelry, and has discovered that if you give her a hammer, she is a happy girl.

A designer who prides herself in appealing to a broad customer base as she thinks that jewelry styles, like our mood, change from day to day. She also thinks that jewelry should not take a one size fits all approach. After many years in the corporate world, she began to take classes and create Jewelry. Whenever she wore the jewelry created by self, she was asked if it was for sale or if she could create something similar. It was at that time she decided to take the plunge and sell her jewelry.
