Meet the Coquette!

My latest creation, a fabric choker, consists of a big white/red flower with a gorgeous vintage button in the middle, to be tied with a simple but romantic satin ribbon in a fascinating shade of red:

Campanula - lace earrings

Here is another funny way to recycle. The lace I used to create these faboulous long earrings was taken from an old skirt of mine; I made two wraps hold by a bead cap and the long chain ending with a swarovski crystal added a classy final touch.

Turquoise, Emerald and Pearl Necklace in brass

Handcut brass necklace with turquoise and emerald chip beads and freshwater pearl beads. It is from my Flower Power range and there are different shaped flowers hanging from the pendant. I took this design from a necklace I made 25 years ago! it was made from copper and then enameled, the main piece was black the rest multi coloured. I don’t do much enameling now, I must fire my kiln up and dust off my enamels!

Hi from Italy everybody!

As this is my very first post in this blog, I would like to start by introducing myself and the jewelry I create. I live in Milan, and I have a real passion for fabric and colors. This is why I love making jewels out of felt, cotton, ribbons and custom buttons. These I use to create necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets whose purpose is to add that funny, colorful touch to a pair of jeans or sometimes a serious look.

I called my Jewelry line “Small things by WakameSalada” because I want my jewels to be that little something which makes people smile and makes every girl who wears it feel original, feminine and cheered up at the same time.

I would describe me as an observer. I keep an eye on which colors people like to wear and how they interprete it, and try to create something which can meet their needs without being ordinary. Of course, I do the same when choosing my look, as I really believe that a colorful and stylish look influences your mood, too.
