Stamping – Creating personalized gifts

by francine on Apr.21, 2010, under Handmade Jewelry, Jewelry Making

Hand stamping is such a wonderful way to create unique, personalized gifts. There are endless styles of stamp choices for everyone’s style. There are also fun stamps like hearts, babies feet and even dog bones.

It is not that difficult to learn how to stamp but I would test it out first on scrap copper so you can test out the spacing and how hard you need to hammer. The great think about hand stamping is that part of the charm is that it is not perfect :)

So if you are looking for that wonderful personalized gift which will last a lifetime, a hand stamped, sterling silver gift is perfect!

How to make heat treated Agate Earrings

by justatish on Oct.06, 2009, under Jewelry Making

Fun and flirty design, goes great with any outfit.

What you will need:

* 2 – top drilled 10 x 12 mm faceted briolettes
* 18 – 6mm sterling silver jump rings
* 2 – 2 1/2″of 22 gauge half hard round sterling wire
* 2 – sterling silver french hooks

Make a wire wrapped loop at the end of one of the wire pieces. Slide the briolette onto the wire about 1/4″ from the wrap. Bend the loop up at a 90 degree angle. Take the straight end of the wire, bend it up at a 90 degree angle and begin to wrap it back up towards the loop. Slide 8 of the jump rings onto the top of the earring. Secure the 9th ring thru the eye of the loop. Attach the ear wire through the top loop.

Repeat to create the other earring.
